Yeah, though the coach doesn't really help. Like yesterday he sent an email saying "Try to run everyday, several of you have had the most impressive first two weeks of practice and I would to see your full potential realized this spring" (I don't know what "I would to see" means, put that's what he said, word for word.). It's just that a few minutes before a race, say when I'm running the mile, I start to get all jittery and wish that I had never signed up. Like I have butterflies in my stomach. It's not that I really care, I just would always get nervous.

My boy,

My advice: don't take your track so seriously that it stresses you out. It's for your enjoyment after all. It's not all about winning.

Consider Uncle C's seventh grade soccer team. Before the last game, the coach screamed at us, saying that he had never coached a team that had no wins and especially a team that did not score any goals (the latter sort of implies the former, but I digress). He inspired us to lose the last game, 0-1, and our team went down in history as winless and scoreless. I did not take it personally in fact it was kind of funny. In the next year, a different coach took the same kids (8th grade) to the state playoffs.

I'm not sure what point I was making here except its all up to you whether you want to enjoy it. Winning or losing, number of goals etc ,sometimes isn't that important.
